![]() ![]() No - you can expand them up to 4 levels, but after that you have to make more maps. You can also hold the map in your offhand in both bedrock and java to get it persistent off to the side (this is what I usually do). To see it easier, you look at the map directly - I forget the exact action you use, but you either look down or use the map while it is selected in your hot bar and it will improve the angle. If playing on bedrock, place copies of the map in item frames and those copies will be marked on the map. I believe if you name the banner first, that name will also show up on the map (I think). If playing on java, you can place banners and then click on them with the map to mark waypoints on the map. To mark stuff, it depends on whether you are playing java or bedrock (BTW, if you are playing bedrock, use a cartography table and add a compass to your map to make it a locator map, it will make your life MUCH easier). To map out the rest of the area, go to an area off of your current map and make a new map and then open it for the first time while in that area - this will create a map for that area and allow you to keep mapping.
